That shipment that wasn’t supposed to get here until Tuesday came in the mail today. A Birthday Gift from my Father 20 years in the making, the Power Morpher from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.
Let me share a quick story about why this means so much to me…
I was a 4 year old scrawny, little guy who loved nothing more than to wake up really early on Saturday mornings in 1993, watching Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers with his Father. One rainy, Friday evening after school my Pops & I were at the store and as we walked through the toy aisle, there were a couple of Power Morphers on the shelves. I asked my Dad if I could have one and he said we’d go back the next day to pick one up since he could not cash his paycheck until the next morning. That Saturday Morning, we went back to the store and what do you know? The Morphers they had in stock had already been purchased. Now I was never really a picky kid so Pops got me something else instead and called it a life on that endeavor.
Fast forward to last Friday, my Father sends me an email telling me he’s found the perfect gift for my 25th Birthday and this shows up. I might have one of the coolest Dad’s in existence. :3 -
